Mission

Our Mission

The mission of the New Windsor Presbyterian Church is to expand the Christian faith in the New Windsor community. We strive to spread this vision through various programs in the church and community. Through our preaching, teaching, fellowship, compassion and hospitality, we seek to help keep the gospel not only alive, but flourishing. Our doors are always open, as the family of God, to our members and our community. We further strive to set a leadership example as a sharing, caring, supportive and compassionate congregation by offering spiritual guidance to anyone. Together as Christ’s disciples we hope our church is making a difference in our community and the world.

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Food Pantry

The New Windsor Presbyterian church offers the community a food bank for those who are in need. The communities Food Bank is stationed in the basement of the church and is open the second Friday of each month from 12:30-2pm. Some essential canned and dried goods can be found as well as toiletry items. Donations to the food pantry are accepted at any time and are always appreciated, but perishable items cannot be kept. Please contact the church office at (309) 667-2412 with any questions.

Emergency Fund

For the New Windsor community members in need of some financial assistance, our church has established the Emergency Fund that allows us to help. This fund has helped assist with power, water and heating bills, as well as rent payments and others. Those who receive this assistance are known only to a few in the church and are kept anonymous. Assistance will only be given once to an individual and payments are paid directly to those who are owed (landlord, power company, etc.).

Our assistance is based on available funds, so those inclined to help with this cause can specify a donation to go directly to the Emergency Fund. Those who are looking for assistance should contact the church office at (309) 667-2412.

Presbyterians And Lutherans Serving (PALS)

Presbyterians and Lutherans Serving is an organization of local congregations which cooperate by sharing an emergency fund for people who need help paying bills or other expenses. We also collect donations of food or cash to support our local food pantries in New Windsor, Sherrard and Woodhull. In addition, PALS churches host weekly services during the season of Lent, as well as one Thanksgiving service every year.

If you are in need, you can contact any of the PALS church offices or pastors. Currently, PALS includes these congregations:

Bethany Lutheran Church of Woodhull

Calvary Lutheran Church of New Windsor

First Lutheran Church of Sherrard

New Windsor Presbyterian Church

Rio Presbyterian Church

Swedona Lutheran Church

Relay for Life

The New Windsor Presbyterian Church consistently participates in helping Relay for Life by holding fund raisers such as the Rumage sale in June where church members donate items of value to be sold for profit.
